Universal Cinergia opens studios in Rio de Janeiro
The company`s 6th worldwide facility, the state-of-the-art studios are located in Barra da Tijuca, audiovisual hub of the city

On the year of its 10th anniversary, Universal Cinergia opens its 6th worldwide facility in Rio de Janeiro, increasing its dubbing capacity in Brazilian Portuguese to 120 hs weekly. Located in the audiovisual hub Polo Rio Cine & Vídeo, in Barra da Tijuca, the 1,200 square meter (12,900 sq feet) state-of-the-art studios are housed in a 4-story building with 10 recording suites, 2 recording studios for Theatrical, 2 remote recording studios, as well as 5 Mixing suites 7.4.2. Liliam Hernandez (CEO) and Gema Lopez (COO) hosted a cocktail party this past August to celebrate the occasion with the presence of clients, partners, press and collaborators. Cinergia also has studios in São Paulo, Mexico City, Paris, Valencia and Miami, home of the company’s headquarters.
“Opening new studios in the year that marks our 10th anniversary is a major accomplishment for us, considering that we are coming out of a pandemic after a couple of years of extreme adversity where we all had to adapt to a new reality,” says Liliam Hernandez. “At our 10th anniversary party earlier this year we announced the launching in Rio, and we fulfilled that commitment. This could only be achieved with the support of my business partner and loyal friend Gema Lopez, who has always shared my vision of international expansion!”

The key is to balance this hybrid working model, so that costs are streamlined, and production stays on track and on time. Managing multiple studios in multiple cities requires our 24-hour attention, working across several different time zones”.
The Rio studios are headed by Beatriz Rodriguez, a young and talented professional who brings her expertise in the technical side of the business, contributing with fresh and innovative ideas, not only operationally, but also in the architecture of the facilities, which were built to provide a comfortable yet productive work environment, with areas for work and relaxation. “I am honored to join Liliam and Gema in this journey. I am sure this is the beginning of many big projects and even more growth in the coming years!”, says Beatriz.
Actively working with clients across multiple regions - North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, Universal Cinergia is the studio that paved the way for dubbing Turkish telenovelas into Spanish, and currently provides dubbing services to the majority of Turkish content companies.
