Plint opens new office and studio space in the Netherlands, following the acquisition of dubbing company KM Studio

JANUARY 31, 2023

Creative and fast-growing localisation company Plint, announced today
the official opening of their new office and studio facilities in Hilversum,
south of Amsterdam. This is the latest move in the company’s further
expansion that follows the acquisition of dubbing company KM Studio in
June last year.

The opening of Plint’s new Dutch office marks the start for the company’s plan of expanding their global dub offering, having acquired KM Studio – a creative dubbing company with a history of over 40 years in the industry committed to creating high- quality dubbing and audio services. With a strong presence throughout the Nordics and Europe, and with multiple studios in key locations, Plint is now able to provide a complete package of localisation services. Since the acquisition last year, the
revenue from the dubbing side of the business has doubled in size and the revenue stream from Plint’s subtitling clients is up 45 percent.

Plint has made sure to attract the best talents to set up their new studio facilities in the Netherlands, and support their growing need for Dutch dub and production. Charlotte and Patrick Ulenberg, previously with SDI-Iyuno, are now a part of Plint as creative and strategic consultants, both with a broad industry experience having founded the very successful dubbing company Creative Sounds back in 2000 which was then bought by BTI Studios in 2018.

“The opening of our new office and studio space in Hilversum is a significant step forward for Plint, as it allows us to expand our services and provide even more value to our clients,” said Thomas Roberts, CEO of Plint. “The acquisition of KM Studios brought a wealth of experience and talent to our team, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer even more services to our clients in the Netherlands and beyond. With the support of Charlotte and Patrick, and with Laura Koning heading up Plint Benelux we’re confident that we can continue to grow, and as always at Plint, support the fantastic talent that makes this industry what it is.”

Laura Koning, Production and Area Manager Plint Benelux, added, “We’re excited to be a part of Plint’s growth and to contribute our expertise to the team. Plint’s unique approach to localisation and emphasis on personal, long-term relationships is what sets them apart in the industry, and I can’t wait to get up to full speed here.”

Plint is known for its unique approach to localisation, prioritising personal, long-term sustainable relationships, tailored solutions, and creativity. They value not only the quality of the production but also the way it’s achieved – from recruiting and casting, to partnering with clients – and are dedicated to supporting voice talents and linguists who are seen as the backbone of the company. Additionally, Plint has a strong focus on innovation and implementing new ways to use AI technology to sustainably benefit both clients and freelancers, allowing an even greater focus on the creative elements in the art of localisation.

With the opening of the new office and studio space in Hilversum, Plint is well- positioned to continue the ambition of creative excellence for all its clients, and next up is Berlin, which will put Plint in an even better position to compete with larger LSPs and continue its mission to drive positive change in the industry.
