“This is the only CEE market for the industry, and it was postponed for the past two years due to the global pandemic. Thus, the anticipation of a revived showcase for the Central and Eastern Europe countries is quite exciting for everyone,” Gabor Somogyi, Managing Director of The Kitchen Hungary, explained. “The on-line version of the event was not very effective,” he continued, “and we are eagerly waiting to welcome clients and colleagues to Budapest once again.”

According to Gabor, the Ukrainian situation has brought Hungary an average of 10,000 refugees daily, many of whom will continue their journey onto other destinations. It is, however, business as usual for most of the area’s production and post-production studios.

Gabor will be joined by Lajos Petro, Managing Partner, of The Kitchen Hungary and Yoram Chertok, Managing Director of The Kitchen EMEA.

“As is true in most countries, the pandemic has seen an increase in demand for Hungarian language productions as well,” Gabor continued. “And as one of the only countries capable of providing Ukrainian voices now, we are being kept quite busy.”
